ArchiveCSF coordinators take part in Erasmus+ conference in Lithuania 29 October 2013 Two coordinators of the Working Group 4 – Yaryna Borenko and Nikolai Kvantaliani participated in the Information Day on Erasmus+ for Eastern Partnership countries that took place in in Kaunas, Lithuania last week. During the event the Presidency outlined the new possibilities that the programme will open for students and academic staff from the Eastern Partnership countries once it kicks in January 1st, 2014. After the opening statement by Dainius Pavalkis, Minister of Education and Science of Lithuania Jan Truszczyński, Director General, European Commission, DG Education and Culture talked about recent developments and challenges in EU higher education and synergies with Eastern Partnership countries. 'Internationalisation of higher education is currently the key topic on the European agenda – said the Minister – and academic mobility in the educational system is a prerequisite for international collaboration. The discovery of the world and its diversity, allows us to become more open for dialogue. In this modern global world where business, production and culture cross national boarders, it is very important to have a solid platform for effective intercultural collaboration, for partnerships', said the Lithuanian Minister. During the first half of the day the audience got information on the lessons learnt from Tempus and Erasmus programmes and on the new opportunities within the new Erasmus+. In the afternoon the workshops focused on credit mobility, degree mobility and joint degrees and capacity building and cooperation.
Report of Working group 4: Contacts between People, 4-5 October 2013 07 October 2013 At the beginning of year 2014 the WG4 coordinators finalised the communication with Wg4 participants and started to plan some activities for Wg4 and subgroups. As for 2014 there have been 3 sub WG: Education, Youth, Culture Activities within the subWGs: Education: the Subgroup priority is Non-Formal Education in Eastern Partnership region. The subgroups member are involved in 2 projects supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czekh Republik dedicated to comparative analyses of state of situation, paths for recognition of NFE in the region and elaboration of best practices. Youth: The subgroup Youth has been concentrated on preparation and organization of the first EaP CSF Youth Site event on 2 - 3rd of October. Culture: the sub WG culture works on issue of implementation of UNESCO Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions and will be presented by the WG4 speaker at the Inter-institutional seminar on implementation of the Convention to be held on 23rd of October in Lviv, Ukraine.

Call for applications for the Youth Side Event to the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum 24 July 2013 EaP CSF Working group 4 “Contacts between people” in partnership with National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM), National Council of Youth and Children’s Organizations of Civil Society of Belarus (RADA) and Ministry of Youth and Sport Moldova invite interested parties to respond to the call for applications for Youth Side Event to the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum that will take place on 2-3 October in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova before the 11th of August.
Role of culture as vector for reforms assessed at Eastern Partnership Ministerial Conference on Culture 04 July 2013 On 27-28 June the EaP Ministerial Conference on Culture was held in Tbilisi with the participation of Androulla Vassiliu, the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth.

Project on Life-Long Learning implemented by Education sub-group 04 June 2013 The education sub-group under WG4 was awarded funds under the support scheme for small projects of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for a project with the title "Life-Long Learning in the Eastern Partnership countries: culture, politics, and recognition".
Network of Youth think-tanks of Eastern Partnership founded at meeting in Baku 04 June 2013 A Forum concerning the establishment of think tanks network of youth represented in the Eastern Partnership countries was organised in Baku in May by the "Democratic Reformers Youth" Public Union and supported by the Youth Foundation under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Book on Non-Formal Education published by Education sub-group 20 December 2012 WG4 has published a book on "Non-formal Education for Regional Democratic Transformation" which has been prepared by experts from all six EaP countries in the framework of the Education sub-group.
